Competitive asymmetric game with secret roles
You're the builder of the most spectacular medieval city ever... if your carefully managed loans are enough to outdo your rivals. Hah, wouldn't it be nice to have unspeakable wealth at your disposal to erect important buildings at once and thus catapult your city to the top? The price for such extravagance? Oh, nothing more than a piece of your soul ...
Deal with the Devil – Deutsche Ausgabe is a Eurogame with a medieval fantasy theme. In it, each of the four players slip into a secret role, embodying a mortal, a cultist, or even the devil. Due to these asymmetrical roles, each player has his own game objective.
But be careful. Others may notice that you are missing this precious piece of yourself. And punish such impudence! No reward without risk - the choice is yours.
In the secret trading phase, players can offer their resources to other players for money. The devil tempts mortals with valuable goods in exchange for a piece of their soul. Which the cultists are happy to do without fearing any consequences. Only the app that comes with the game knows who is trading with whom.
But be careful! Bragging about how well you're doing can attract unwelcome attention and suspicion from other players. Or even arouse the interest of the Inquisition, which wants to punish all those whose souls are no longer intact.
There are many dynamic strategies you can experiment with in each new game. Will you sell parts of your soul early on to improve your city-building skills, even at the risk of being punished by the Inquisition? Or will you manage your money carefully and wait patiently for others to inadvertently reveal their nefarious nature? Every decision has consequences, and each role has a unique strategic approach to explore.
