ALONE AGAINST THE ALIEN INVASION
As the attacking mothership descends on Earth, humanity is forced to hide in underground bases to protect themselves from the bombardment. As the leader of your base, you'll have to develop a weapon to destroy the aliens, while simultaneously expanding the base and defending against the enemy ships. Can you complete the mission before your base is destroyed?
Under Falling Skies is a solo game with a campaign that spans several missions. In each mission you must lead a different city to victory overthe invading aliens or perish along with the remnants of humanity. At the core of the game's mechanics is an innovative dice placement system that simultaneously determines your actions and those of the enemy ships. In the process, larger dice numbers give you more options, but they also cause the alien ships to approach your city faster. Your mission is to advance research to develop a weapon to repel the aliens. To achieve this, you'll have to expand the city's underground base to access more powerful actions, shoot down enemy ships and multiply your actions by using robots. And in all this, you must never forget about the energy supply. Because if the mothership, which is getting closer with each turn, should reach your city, only ashes will remain.

Nicht nur exzellentes Material, das wunderbar ausschaut oder das Spiel thematisch mit stimmungsvollen Comics unterstützt, sondern auch spielerisch.[…]Under Falling Skies ist für eine fordernde Partie für zwischendurch absolut zu empfehlen!

Die Regeln von UNDER FALLING SKIES ermöglichen auch Gelegenheitsspielern einen schnellen Einstieg. Trotz der modularen Struktur und viel Gestaltungsflexibilität, ist UNDER FALLING SKIES erfreulich ausbalanciert. Sämtliche Testspiele für diese Rezension blieben bis zuletzt spannend. Nur auf die ausgewiesenen 30 Minuten Spielzeit sollte man sich nicht verlassen – bei leidenschaftlicher Knobelei kann der Kampf um das Schicksal des Planeten auch mal 60 Minuten dauern. Ein schwacher Kritikpunkt, denn die zusätzliche halbe Stunde ist gut investiert – in das Schicksal der Welt und beste Solo-Unterhaltung. Neugierige können hier, ebenso wie erfahrene Solo-Gamer bedenkenlos zugreifen. Wertung: 8/10!
